How to calculate Florida sales tax
To find the sales tax on a purchase in Florida at the 6% state rate:
- Convert the rate to a decimal: 6 Γ· 100 = 0.06.
- Multiply by the price: $100 Γ 0.06 = $6 (sales tax).
- Add it back: $100 + $6 = $106 (final price).
